As i look back on the events that have transpired this past year i feel a tremendous amount of pride in all that we have accomplished at the cranston senior center. our goal in early 2004 was to make some major renovations to the senior center and with the support of mayor laffey and the community development block funding he helped us secure, we were able to restore the senior center to a place we can all be proud of. as the year comes to a close, i would like to take this opportunity to commend my staff for their dedication and commitment to the hundreds of seniors we serve every day. through their efforts, we have increased our membership and added new programs this past year that have been very well received. we plan to continue along this path. i'm especially proud of our transvan department crew. jane luker and cliff george have managed to add more trips around town for the convenience of our seniors and kathi dunphy and jane have added more day trips to fun places that i know our seniors wouldn't get to without our help. i'd also like to mention the fine job our adult day services staff does under the ever watchful eye of rosie castiglione, rn in caring for seniors who need a special caring touch. and of course, we all know we couldn't operate without our senior volunteers who assist us in our dining room, the adult day services center, our rsvp department, our gift shop and our post office. this past year the on the homefront, 100% contact campaign, coordinated by our rsvp department, has flourished. for over a year twenty senior volunteers have contacted the families of our local deployed servicemen and women who are putting their lives on the line for our safety everyday. through a call a month our volunteers let the family members know we are here to help and support them. i grateful for the support given to these families by these dedicated volunteers. as 2005 arrives i look forward to working with mayor laffey and his administration, as well as my staff, to continue to provide services to enhance the quality of life for the seniors in our community. please accept my heartfelt wishes for a happy and healthy new year and download poker video.
